Seating

Where to sit at Old Trafford

  • Stretford End

The traditional home end behind the west goal. Its lower tier is the atmosphere pick; upper rows are steeper and reveal the scale of Old Trafford.

  • Sir Alex Ferguson Stand

The huge three-tier north side. Central seats give a superb tactical view, while the high upper tier is usually the value route into the ground but involves a long climb.

  • Sir Bobby Charlton Stand

The smaller south-side stand, with the dugouts and TV gantry. Central blocks offer a close side-on view, while hospitality products have their own seating and access arrangements.

  • East Stand corner

The East Stand faces the Stretford End. Visiting supporters use the south-east corner where it meets the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. Nearby East Stand blocks are home seating, so check the block designation before buying.

Background

Manchester United club history

Manchester United are joint-record 20-time English champions and three-time champions of Europe. Home is Old Trafford, the 'Theatre of Dreams' and the largest club stadium in the country.

Founded in 1878 as Newton Heath, the club was rebuilt after the war by Matt Busby, whose young 'Busby Babes' were decimated by the 1958 Munich air disaster. Busby rebuilt again, and in 1968 United became the first English club to win the European Cup, led by Best, Law and Charlton.

The defining era was Sir Alex Ferguson's, from 1986 to 2013 — 13 league titles, two Champions Leagues, and the crowning 1999 Treble of Premier League, FA Cup and European Cup, sealed with two stoppage-time goals in Barcelona.

Ferguson's 2013 retirement began a more turbulent chapter of managers and rebuilds as the club works to return to the summit of the English and European game.

The ground. Old Trafford has been United's home since 1910 and holds around 74,000 — the largest club ground in England. Christened the 'Theatre of Dreams' by Sir Bobby Charlton, its Stretford End is the traditional home of the club's most vocal support, and the ground remains one of world football's great venues.

Seating at Old Trafford

Old Trafford's four sides: the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand (north) is the biggest at three tiers; the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (south) is the oldest, carries the TV gantry, and its central seats are premium. The Stretford End (west) is the traditional home end.

Away fans sit in the corner between the East Stand and the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. For value, the upper tiers of the north stand usually undercut equivalent sideline views elsewhere in the ground.
