About Emirates Stadium
The Emirates Stadium opened on 22 July 2006, replacing Highbury after 93 years of Arsenal football at the original ground. The 15-year, £100m naming rights deal with Emirates Airline was the largest in British football at the time. Arsenal's first competitive Emirates fixture. Against Aston Villa on 19 August 2006, ended 1-1.
