Seating

Where to sit at Craven Cottage

  • Hammersmith End

The home end behind the north goal and the best place for Fulham's singing support. Central rear rows carry the most atmosphere; lower rows put you closest to the pitch.

  • Johnny Haynes Stand

The listed red-brick stand on Stevenage Road, with original wooden seats and the most historic feel in the ground. Pillars can restrict some views, so check the listing notes carefully.

  • Riverside Stand

The new touchline stand beside the Thames, with premium seating, hospitality and the dugouts. It offers the cleanest modern sightlines and the highest prices.

  • Putney End

Behind the south goal beside the Cottage pavilion. It is split between home seating and the official away allocation, making the exact block more important than the stand name alone.

Background

Fulham club history

Fulham are the Cottagers — London's oldest professional football club, founded in 1879, and one of the Premier League's most characterful sides. Every home match is played at Craven Cottage, the club's riverside home on the banks of the Thames in south-west London.

Founded in 1879 and playing at Craven Cottage since 1896, Fulham are the oldest established professional football club in London. For much of the 20th century they were a well-loved but modest club, defined more by character than silverware — and above all by Johnny Haynes, the elegant playmaker and England captain who, after the maximum wage was abolished in 1961, became the first £100-a-week footballer. He remains the club's greatest player, and the ground's oldest stand carries his name.

The modern club was built under Mohamed Al-Fayed, who bought Fulham in 1997 and bankrolled a climb from the lower divisions to the Premier League in five years. The high point came in 2010: under Roy Hodgson, Fulham knocked out Juventus and Hamburg on a remarkable run to the Europa League final, where they lost narrowly to Atlético Madrid after extra time — the greatest European night in the club's history.

Since Shahid Khan's 2013 takeover, Fulham became one of English football's classic yo-yo clubs, bouncing between the Premier League and the Championship before Marco Silva's side won promotion in 2022 and settled Fulham as an established top-flight team. Off the pitch, the redeveloped Riverside Stand reshaped the Thames-side ground while preserving the Cottage and listed Johnny Haynes Stand.

Honours. 1975 FA Cup finalists · 2010 Europa League finalists · second-tier champions (2001, 2022) · UEFA Intertoto Cup (2002). Fulham's proudest days are cup runs, European nights and promotions rather than major trophies.

The ground. Craven Cottage has sat beside the River Thames since 1896 and is one of English football's most distinctive grounds. The Grade II-listed Johnny Haynes Stand — an Archibald Leitch design — and the pavilion Cottage in the corner give it a look nothing else in the league matches. The Hammersmith End is the vocal home end; the new Riverside Stand adds modern, unobstructed views beside the water.

Biggest rivalries

  • Chelsea. The West London derby against Fulham's nearest top-flight neighbours — barely a mile of the Thames separates Craven Cottage from Stamford Bridge.
  • Queens Park Rangers. Fulham's fiercest local rivalry — a West London derby with QPR, the two grounds only about two miles apart, at its most heated whenever the clubs share a division.
  • Brentford. A West London rivalry with near-neighbours Brentford that has sharpened as both clubs settled into the Premier League.

Getting to Craven Cottage

London · 28,819 capacity · Opened 1896

Craven Cottage has hosted Fulham since 1896. The ground sits beside the River Thames and combines its historic cottage with the modern Riverside Stand.

Public transport: Putney Bridge Underground station is about a 15-minute walk through Bishop's Park.

Away fans: Visiting supporters sit in the Putney End, which is divided between home and away blocks.

Seating at Craven Cottage

Craven Cottage has four distinct sides. The Hammersmith End is the vocal home end; the listed Johnny Haynes Stand retains original wooden seating and supporting pillars, so restricted-view notes matter. The modern Riverside Stand contains the cleanest sightlines and most premium inventory.

The Putney End sits beside the Cottage pavilion and is split between home and visiting supporters. Hammersmith and Putney end seats usually cost less than central Riverside blocks, while the Johnny Haynes Stand is chosen as much for history as for the view.
