Background

Arsenal Football Club club history

Arsenal are North London's red-and-white institution — 14-time league champions, record FA Cup holders and the club of the 2003–04 'Invincibles'. Every home match is played at the Emirates Stadium in Holloway.

1886

Founded in Woolwich, south-east London

Founded in 1886 by munitions workers in Woolwich, south-east London, Arsenal moved north to Highbury in 1913 — a relocation that helped make them one of England's biggest clubs. Under Herbert Chapman in the 1930s they became the dominant side of the decade, pioneering tactics, floodlights and the numbered shirt.

The modern identity was forged by Arsène Wenger, who arrived in 1996 and reshaped English football's training and diet culture while winning three league titles. The peak was 2003–04: an entire league season unbeaten — the 'Invincibles', a feat no side has matched since. In 2006 the club left Highbury for the 60,000-seat Emirates Stadium.

A long title drought followed the Emirates move, softened by a run of FA Cups. Since 2019, Mikel Arteta rebuilt Arsenal from mid-table to champions: after three straight runner-up seasons, the 2025/26 side ended the 22-year wait for the title — conceding a league-low 26 goals — and reached the Champions League final in the same campaign.

The ground. The Emirates Stadium opened in 2006 with a capacity of 60,704 — one of the largest club grounds in England — a few hundred metres from old Highbury. The single-tier North Bank and Clock End behind the goals carry the historic stand names; the steep bowl keeps the crowd close and the acoustics sharp on European nights.

Seating at Emirates Stadium

The Emirates is a four-ring bowl: lower tier, premium Club Level, a box tier, and the upper tier. Club Level runs the full circuit and is the marketplace's premium band; upper-tier corners are usually the cheapest entry.

The away section sits in the lower tier's south-east corner. The Clock End (south) and North Bank carry most of the home noise; sideline upper-tier seats between the halfway lines give the best view-per-pound.

Average price per section, 2026/27

The cheapest way in for Arsenal home games is Shortside Upper Tier, averaging £443.26 per game. Shortside Upper Tier has the most tickets left — 6,302 — and the priciest regular section, Longside Lower Tier Central, averages £744.77, about 1.7× the cheapest seat.
