Seating
Where to sit at Elland Road
North Stand
The traditional Kop behind the goal and one of Elland Road's two busiest vocal areas. Upper rail-seating blocks are aimed at supporters who want to stand and sing.
South Stand
The compact home end behind the opposite goal, also known for persistent noise. It is not the best choice for families or anyone who expects to remain seated throughout.
East Stand
The largest side and home to the family area. Upper seats have a panoramic view but are exceptionally high and unsuitable for some supporters with vertigo or limited mobility.
John Charles West Stand
The main stand with dugouts and a classic close side-on view. Visiting supporters occupy its south end across upper and lower tiers, depending on allocation.

Background
Leeds United club history
Leeds United are Yorkshire's one-club-city giant — three-time champions, the dominant force of Don Revie's era and owners of one of England's most intense home atmospheres at Elland Road.
1919
Leeds United formed
3
English league titles
2
Inter-Cities Fairs Cups
1975
European Cup finalists
Leeds United were formed in 1919 after Leeds City was expelled from the Football League. The club's identity changed completely under Don Revie from 1961: an uncompromising, technically elite side rose from the second tier and won two league titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups.
Revie's team also collected painful near misses, including the 1975 European Cup final. Leeds returned to the summit under Howard Wilkinson in 1991/92, becoming the last champions of the old First Division, and a young side reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2001.
Spending around that European run led to administration and a fall into League One. Marcelo Bielsa restored Premier League football in 2020 after 16 years away; a further Championship title in 2024/25 brought Leeds back again and renewed Elland Road's place among the division's loudest grounds.
Honours. 3 league titles · FA Cup (1972) · League Cup (1968) · 2 Inter-Cities Fairs Cups · European Cup finalists (1975) · 5 second-tier titles.
The ground. Elland Road has staged football since 1897 and has been Leeds United's home from the club's formation in 1919. Its four stands sit tight to the pitch, with the North and South ends carrying much of the noise; 2026/27 access routes are adjusted around West Stand redevelopment work.
Biggest rivalries
- Manchester United. The Roses rivalry is Leeds' highest-profile fixture, carrying the older Lancashire–Yorkshire divide into modern football. Manchester United vs Leeds United tickets →
- Chelsea. A bitter rivalry crystallised by the bruising 1970 FA Cup final and revived whenever the clubs meet. Chelsea vs Leeds United tickets →
- Huddersfield Town. The closest major West Yorkshire derby, even though long stretches in different divisions have limited recent meetings.

Seating at Elland Road
Elland Road's North and South stands are the vocal ends, with rail seating in North Upper. The East Stand is the largest side and contains family seating; its upper tier is exceptionally high. The John Charles West Stand is the traditional main stand beside the dugouts.
Away fans use the south end of the West Stand. Central West and East seats give the best tactical view; the ends supply atmosphere, while East Upper should be avoided by visitors uncomfortable with height or long stairways.
