History
About Elland Road
Elland Road has been Leeds United's home since the club's founding in 1919 (the ground was originally home to Holbeck Rugby Club from 1897). Successive expansions through the 20th century brought capacity to a peak of 57,000+ in the late 1960s, before all-seater conversion in the 1990s reduced it to today's 37,608. The ground was sold by the club in 2004 during financial difficulties and bought back in 2017.
