Seating

Where to sit at Estadio de La Cartuja

  • Preferencia

The main stand gives the classic side-on view and holds the premium seats. Central sections are the best choice if you want to follow the tactical shape of the game.

  • Fondo

The three-tier east stand faces the Preferencia and offers a similar side-on view, usually for a lower price. Middle-tier seats near the halfway line are a strong all-round option.

  • Gol Norte

The three-tier north end behind the goal is a good choice for atmosphere, with green-and-white flags and constant singing from the home support.

  • Gol Sur

The three-tier south end mirrors the Gol Norte. Since the athletics track was removed in the 2024-25 rebuild, the lower tiers at both ends sit much closer to the pitch than before.

Background

Real Betis club history

Real Betis are the green-and-white heart of Seville, known for one of the most loyal and joyful fan bases in Spain and for the famous motto 'Viva el Betis manque pierda', long live Betis even when they lose.

Champions in 1935 and a modern revival

Real Betis were founded in 1907 and won their only La Liga title in 1934/35. The decades that followed brought ups and downs between divisions, but the club's support never faded, and the Copa del Rey wins of 1977 and 2005 became landmark days for the city.

A modern revival under Manuel Pellegrini brought a third Copa del Rey in 2022 and regular European football, and in 2025 Betis reached their first major European final, the Conference League final against Chelsea.

Since the 2025/26 season Betis have played their home matches at the Estadio de La Cartuja while the Benito Villamarín is rebuilt. The move has not dented the support: the club sold about 57,000 season tickets for its first season there.

Honours. La Liga (1935) · 3 Copa del Rey titles (1977, 2005, 2022) · Conference League finalists (2025).

The ground. The Benito Villamarín, named after a former club president, is being rebuilt, and the club has not yet given a return date. Until then Betis play at La Cartuja, where a crowd of 67,447 watched the 2-2 derby against Sevilla on 1 March 2026.

Biggest rivalries

  • Sevilla. The Gran Derbi divides Seville and is one of the most passionate derbies in Spain, with the whole city stopping when the clubs meet. Sevilla vs Real Betis tickets →
  • Real Madrid and Barcelona. Visits from Spain's two giants are the biggest home fixtures of the season and among the fastest to sell out. Real Madrid vs Real Betis tickets →
  • Andalusian rivals. Derbies against Málaga, Cádiz and Granada add regional spice whenever the clubs share a division.

Getting to Estadio de La Cartuja

Seville · 70,000 capacity · Opened 1999

Real Betis have played their home matches at the Estadio de La Cartuja since the 2025/26 season, while the Benito Villamarín is rebuilt. Built for the 1999 World Athletics Championships on the Isla de la Cartuja, the stadium was transformed in 2024-25, when the athletics track was removed and new covered stands were built closer to the pitch. It is also a regular venue for the Copa del Rey final.

Public transport: La Cartuja is on the Isla de la Cartuja, across the Guadalquivir from the city centre, and parking next to the stadium is limited. Public transport and matchday buses are the recommended way to get there.

Away fans: Visiting supporters are placed in a separated section, and the exact block is confirmed with each allocation.

Seating at Estadio de La Cartuja

La Cartuja has four stands: the Preferencia main stand, the three-tier Fondo on the east side, and the three-tier Gol Norte and Gol Sur behind the goals. Since the athletics track was removed in 2024-25, the lower tiers sit much closer to the pitch.

Betis season-ticket holders take most of the seats for league matches, so general-sale tickets can be limited, and it pays to book early. Central Preferencia seats carry the premium, while the ends and upper tiers are usually the cheapest way in. Each listing states its section, so you can check exactly where you will sit.

Average price per section, 2026/27

The cheapest way in for Real Betis home games is Gol Grada Alta, averaging £96.12 per game. Gol Grada Alta has the most tickets left — 438 — and the priciest regular section, Gol Grada Baja, averages £340.98, about 3.5× the cheapest seat.
