History

About Camp Nou

Camp Nou opened on 24 September 1957, built over three years to replace Les Corts, which the club had outgrown. It has been the largest club ground in Europe for most of its life and staged matches at the 1982 World Cup and two European Cup finals. The record crowd is 120,000, set in the European Cup in April 1986 — a figure from the terraced era that the all-seater conversions since have put permanently out of reach. In 2023 the club moved out for the Espai Barca rebuild, playing at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Montjuic, and returned to a part-open Camp Nou in November 2025.

A three-tier bowl whose upper reaches are steep and a long way from the pitch — at this size the difference between a first-tier seat and a third-tier one is substantial in a way it is not at a 25,000-seat ground. The rebuild is live and capacity is returning section by section, so which tiers are open varies between fixtures. Check the seat map on the listing rather than assuming a plan from a previous season.

Metro / Tram

Metro L3 serves the ground from Palau Reial, Les Corts and Maria Cristina, and L5 from Collblanc and Badal. All are a walk of roughly ten to fifteen minutes; the crowd spreads across the stations rather than funnelling through one.

Drive

The ground sits in Les Corts, a dense city district, and the streets around it are closed or restricted on matchdays.

Parking

There is no general-admission parking at the ground. The metro is the practical way in.
