The story so far

The Bundesliga fills more seats than any league in the world and has produced the most dramatic final days anywhere. Below, three of them — and the records that put the rest in context.

European nights

Moments we still talk about

2000 · Final day

Unterhaching 2–0 Bayer Leverkusen

Sportpark, Unterhaching

Leverkusen arrived at tiny Unterhaching needing a draw for a first title and lost — Michael Ballack's own goal opening the scoring — while Bayern won their game. 'Neverkusen' entered the language; the club's first title would wait another twenty-four years.

2001 · Final day

Hamburger SV 1–1 Bayern Munich

Volksparkstadion, Hamburg

Schalke had finished their match as champions — for four minutes. Bayern, losing in Hamburg, won an indirect free-kick in the fourth minute of stoppage time and Patrik Andersson drilled it in. Schalke's 'champions of hearts' remain German football's great almost.

2024 · Matchday 29

Bayer Leverkusen 5–0 Werder Bremen

BayArena, Leverkusen

The afternoon Neverkusen died: Xabi Alonso's side clinched the club's first Bundesliga title with five games to spare and finished the league season unbeaten — the first side in Bundesliga history to do it — ending Bayern's run of eleven straight championships.

Competition guide

About the Bundesliga

The Bundesliga is an 18-club league built around 34 matchdays, large crowds and a supporter culture in which standing areas remain part of domestic football. That makes the buying decision different from many all-seater leagues: a standing terrace, a seated side section and a hospitality package can offer completely different days at the same stadium.

The live fixtures and listings above show current Anyseats availability. Exact kick-off times are released in batches, especially once UEFA and DFB Cup commitments are known, so later matchdays should be treated as provisional until the individual event is confirmed.

The big games

Der Klassiker and Germany's regional rivalries

Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund is the international headline, but Germany's regional rivalries can be just as intense. Dortmund against Schalke is the Revierderby when both clubs share the division; Hamburg's return creates major northern fixtures; and meetings involving Cologne, Mönchengladbach, Frankfurt or Stuttgart can carry strong local demand.

A famous club name is not the only signal. Promotion returns, title run-ins and relegation matches can tighten supply quickly, especially at compact grounds. Use current listing quantity and section availability rather than a generic league-wide price estimate.

Terrace culture

Standing and seated tickets are different products

Domestic Bundesliga matches can include standing terraces. These areas are usually more active, denser and less suitable for a buyer expecting an assigned seat. The same section may be converted to seating for UEFA matches, so never assume a European-night layout from a domestic stadium guide.

Read whether the listing is standing or seated and check supporter restrictions. The Yellow Wall at Dortmund is famous, but atmosphere does not override section rules: opposing colours and neutral behaviour may be unsuitable in active home areas.

Planning the trip

Wait for the confirmed appointment

Bundesliga matchdays are initially published as rounds before every exact slot is known. Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening and Sunday windows are all possible. Book flexible travel if the individual fixture still lacks a confirmed kick-off.

No club membership is required to purchase an available Anyseats listing. Follow the delivery instructions, use the stated entrance and allow time around major railway stations and stadium transport. Venue rules differ, so check the host club's current guidance before the match.

FAQ

Bundesliga ticket FAQs

How much are Bundesliga tickets?

Across the 234 Bundesliga fixtures we price daily, the median fixture starts at £204 and the cheapest seat on sale anywhere in the league is £28 (Hoffenheim vs SV Elversberg). Opening prices run up to £5,023 (SV Elversberg vs Borussia Dortmund). Every figure is a final checkout price with fees included, taken from 18,310 tickets listed today.

Which Bundesliga club is cheapest to watch?

Hoffenheim — a home ticket starts at £28 today, against £2,791 at SV Elversberg. That gap is mostly the fixture, not the club: a ground hosting a title rival prices differently from the same ground hosting a promoted side. The table above lists every club.

When is the cheapest time to buy Bundesliga tickets?

By kick-off month, January 2027 is the cheapest of the season — the average cheapest seat is £355 across its 45 fixtures, against £524 in May 2027. Fixture quality drives most of that: a month without the big clubs at home prices like one.

How many Bundesliga fixtures are on sale?

234 fixtures have listings right now, carrying 18,310 tickets across 18 clubs. We re-price every one of them daily, so the numbers on this page are today's rather than a seasonal estimate.

Are Bundesliga tickets on Anyseats authentic?

Listings come from verified sellers. The 200% Buyer Guarantee covers ticket non-delivery and ticket-related denied entry that cannot be resolved in time. We first try to provide comparable or better replacements. When that is not possible, you get 100% refunded, plus 100% back in credit. Events cancelled by the organiser without a replacement date are refunded in full instead.

When will my Bundesliga tickets arrive?

Tickets usually arrive 24-72 hours before the event and are guaranteed before it begins. Some issuers release tickets closer to the start time. Most tickets are delivered electronically. Physical tickets are sent by tracked courier or arranged for clearly identified collection.

Why are Bundesliga ticket prices sometimes above face value?

Anyseats is a secondary marketplace. Prices are set by individual sellers and reflect the live supply and demand for each fixture, section and quantity. Compare the total buyer price and listing details before choosing.

What happens if my Bundesliga match is cancelled or postponed?

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket stays valid for the new date. If an event is cancelled outright with no replacement date, you're refunded in full for the tickets and any mandatory order fees, to your original payment method - automatically. A cancellation by the organiser is outside our control, so it is covered by that full refund rather than by the 200% Buyer Guarantee.

Can I buy Bundesliga away tickets?

Away inventory appears only when an available listing is specifically identified for that allocation. Supply is limited and supporter, identification or collection rules may apply, so read the listing and fulfilment instructions carefully.

Are Bundesliga standing tickets seated for European matches?

UEFA configurations can differ from domestic Bundesliga layouts, and standing areas may be converted to seats. Check the exact event listing and map rather than relying on the section's usual domestic setup.

When are Bundesliga kick-off times confirmed?

The DFL releases exact dates and times in batches after considering European and domestic cup schedules. A listed matchday can remain provisional until that selection is announced.

Do I need a German club membership to buy on Anyseats?

No membership is required to buy an available Anyseats listing. Any ticket-specific account, transfer, attendee or collection instructions still need to be completed.

Which clubs are in the 2026/27 Bundesliga?

Eighteen clubs. Schalke 04 are back after promotion — one of Germany's best-supported clubs, whose away matches sell like derbies — alongside Elversberg, in the top flight for the first time in their history, and Paderborn. The bottom two go down automatically and the sixteenth-placed club enters the relegation play-off.

What is the Bundesliga relegation play-off?

The club finishing sixteenth plays the third-placed club from 2. Bundesliga over two legs, home and away, in the last week of May — after the league season has finished. It is regularly the most dramatic fixture of the German spring, and because it only exists once the table is settled, tickets appear at very short notice.

How many Bundesliga clubs qualify for European competition?

Usually five to seven, depending on the cups and on Germany's UEFA coefficient. The top four enter the Champions League, with a fifth place possible in coefficient years; the Europa League places go by league position and to the DFB-Pokal winner, with a Conference League place below them. A cup winner already qualified through the league passes the place down.

Is there a winter break in the Bundesliga?

Yes, and a real one — German football takes several weeks off around Christmas and New Year, typically from mid-December to mid-January. No Boxing Day round exists here. If you are planning a winter football trip to Germany, check the calendar above before booking anything for late December.
