History
About Weserstadion
Sport has been played on the Peterswerder site beside the Weser since 1909, and the ground received its first grandstand in 1926. It was renamed Bremer Kampfbahn in 1934 and called IKE-Stadion from 1945 to 1947 before becoming the Weserstadion. In 2002 the pitch was lowered by 2.1 metres and the athletics track partly removed, and a 2008–2011 rebuild costing €76.5 million replaced both ends and added a new roof and a façade covered in photovoltaic panels. The ground carried the sponsor name Wohninvest Weserstadion from 2019 until June 2024.
