History

About WWK Arena

Built between November 2007 and July 2009 on a new site in the south of Augsburg, the stadium replaced plans to rebuild the Rosenaustadion. FC Augsburg played their first match there on 26 July 2009, a 2–0 win over a Swabian select side. It has been known as the Impuls Arena, the SGL Arena from 2011 and the WWK Arena since 2015. It hosted four matches at the 2011 Women’s World Cup, including the Sweden v Australia quarter-final.

Metro / Tram

Stadion-Linie 8 tram runs every five minutes from Augsburg Hauptbahnhof and Königsplatz from two hours before kick-off (about 20 minutes). Tram 3 to Siemens II is the earlier option, then about a ten-minute walk.

Drive

The stadium sits beside the B17; from the A8 use the Augsburg-West exit.

Parking

Car parks P1 and P4 cost €10; parking at Messe Augsburg costs €6 and includes a shuttle bus to the stadium.
