Getting to Stade Bollaert-Delelis
Lens · 38,223 capacity · Opened 1933
Stade Bollaert-Delelis opened in 1933, originally as Stade Félix-Bollaert, named for the director of the Compagnie des mines de Lens who oversaw its construction. The ground was renamed in 2012 to add the surname of André Delelis, the former mayor of Lens and minister. Capacity sits at 38,223 — larger than the town of Lens itself, which had a population of roughly 30,800 at the most recent census. Bollaert-Delelis hosted matches at the 1984 European Championship, the 1998 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2016.
Public transport: Lens SNCF station is a 15-minute walk; matchday shuttle buses run from Lille Flandres on TER routes.
