History

About Stade du Moustoir

Stade du Moustoir opened in 1959 in central Lorient as the new home of FC Lorient, the southern Brittany port-city club. The ground was renamed Stade Yves-Allainmat in 1985 in honour of the former mayor of Lorient who had been instrumental in the stadium's development, before reverting to its original name Stade du Moustoir in 2010. Successive refurbishments — most substantially in the early 2010s — lifted capacity to approximately 16,000 in the current configuration. The compact ground sits within walking distance of Lorient's city centre and the SNCF station, and is one of the smaller top-flight French stadiums. FC Lorient have used the ground continuously since 1959, including through the club's Ligue 1 era under coaches Christian Gourcuff and Jean-Claude Le Roy.

Seating layout

Stade du Moustoir seating plan & capacity

Stade du Moustoir is a compact, complete bowl with corner stands filled in during the 2010s refurbishment. The Tribune Nord is the loudest section. The Tribune Bretagne lower midfield offers the best sight-lines. Because the ground is small, the seating bowl sits close to the pitch and crowd noise carries efficiently.

  • Tribune Bretagne (Main Stand)

Side stand along the touchline, two tiers. Houses the directors' box, the players' tunnel and the main press tribune.

  • Tribune Atlantique

Side stand opposite the Bretagne, two tiers. Includes the main hospitality areas.

  • Tribune Nord (North End)

Behind the north goal — the spiritual home of FC Lorient's most vocal support, including the Merlus Ultras and the Lorient supporters' groupings.

  • Tribune Sud (South End)

Behind the south goal. Houses the away allocation in a corner section for Ligue 1 fixtures.
