History
About Roazhon Park
Roazhon Park opened in 1912 on the route de Lorient, the western arterial road out of Rennes, as the new home of Stade Rennais Université Club. The ground was known as Stade de la Route de Lorient for the bulk of its history. Renamed Roazhon Park in 2015 — Roazhon is the Breton-language name for the city of Rennes, and the rebranding was conceived by then-owner François Pinault as an explicit identification with the Breton cultural movement. Successive expansions through the 1990s and 2000s lifted capacity from a pre-war 15,000 to today's 29,778. The ground hosted matches at the 1938 FIFA World Cup, the 1984 UEFA European Championship and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, including a quarter-final.
Seating layout
Roazhon Park seating plan & capacity
Roazhon Park is a compact, rectangular ground without separate corner stands — the seating bowl wraps continuously, which keeps crowd noise close to the pitch. The Tribune Nord (Roazhon Celtic Kop) is the loudest section. The midfield Tribune Mordelles lower offers the best sight-lines for casual visitors.
Tribune Mordelles
Two-tier side stand along the touchline, named for the Mordelles district to the west of the ground. Houses the directors' box, the players' tunnel and the main press tribune.
Tribune Rennes
Two-tier side stand opposite the Mordelles, named for the city centre direction. Includes the main hospitality areas.
Tribune Nord (Roazhon Celtic Kop)
Behind the north goal — the spiritual home of Stade Rennais' most vocal support and the headquarters of the Roazhon Celtic Kop ultras group, founded in 1991. The largest singing section at the ground.
Tribune Sud
Behind the south goal. Houses the away allocation in a corner section for Ligue 1 and European fixtures.
