About King Power Stadium

The King Power Stadium opened on 23 July 2002 as the Walkers Stadium, replacing Filbert Street. Leicester City's home for 111 years. The 10-year, £3.1 million Walkers crisp-naming deal expired in 2011 and was replaced by King Power, the Thai duty-free retailer owned by Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha (the Leicester City owner who died in a 2018 helicopter crash near the stadium), capacity has been progressively increased from the original 32,000.
