About
Football in Athens
Athens is the centre of Greek football. Three of the country's most successful clubs play across the urban area, and all three grounds are on Athens Metro Line 1, the green line from Piraeus to Kifissia. Panathinaikos (founded 1908) play their 2026–27 home matches at the Athens Olympic Stadium “Spyros Louis” in Marousi, a 69,618-capacity bowl built for the 1982 European Athletics Championships and roofed by Santiago Calatrava for the 2004 Olympics; the club has said this is its last season there before moving to a new stadium at Votanikos. AEK Athens, founded in 1924 by refugees from Constantinople, moved into the 31,100-capacity Allwyn Arena in Nea Filadelfeia in 2022, on the site of their old Nikos Goumas Stadium; it was called OPAP Arena until early 2026 and UEFA lists it as AEK Arena. Olympiacos, the most successful club in Greek football, play at the 33,334-capacity Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, the port city on the south-western edge of Athens, on a site first used as the cycling velodrome of the 1896 Olympics. European nights at all three grounds are where most of the tickets we list sit, and the city's indoor arenas and open-air summer theatres fill the rest of the calendar with concerts.

The music venues, from an arena to an ancient theatre
Telekom Center Athens, formerly the OAKA Basketball Arena, is the largest indoor venue in Greece at about 19,000 and sits beside the Olympic Stadium in Marousi; it is where arena tours stop. You may also see it listed by its older names, including the Olympic Indoor Hall.
Summer is open-air season. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a stone theatre completed in AD 161 on the south-west slope of the Acropolis, hosts concerts and festival performances, and the theatre on Mount Lycabettus, the highest point in central Athens, takes rock and pop shows. Smaller clubs across the city fill the rest of the year. Whatever from these venues has tickets on sale today appears in the feed at the top of this page.
Sport in Athens is not only football
Basketball runs football close. Panathinaikos play EuroLeague basketball at Telekom Center Athens, and Olympiacos play at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus.
The Panathenaic Stadium, the marble stadium where the 1896 Olympics opened, is the finish of the Athens Marathon. When these events carry resale inventory they surface in the feed like everything else: we list what has tickets on sale, not what merely exists.
What we list today — and what we don't
Anyseats lists football and live music in Athens today, mostly European nights at the three grounds plus concerts. Super League Greece fixtures appear only when sellers list them. Theatre, museum and Acropolis entry tickets are part of most visits, but we don't sell those, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.
How Athens demand behaves
Champions League nights against Europe's biggest clubs sell first, and the derbies are the hardest domestic tickets in Greece. Ties against less famous opponents, and group-stage or league-phase matches early in the season, are usually the cheaper way in. Every price shown includes fees: the number you see is the number you pay.

AEK Athens vs Panathinaikos
The derby between the city's two Athens-based clubs, AEK from Nea Filadelfeia in the north and Panathinaikos, whose traditional home is Leoforos Alexandras in central Athens.
AEK Athens vs Olympiacos
AEK against Olympiacos is one of the biggest matches of every Super League season, a meeting between two of the country's three most successful clubs.
Match-day tips
On a Athens match-day
European ties in Athens kick off at 19:45 or 22:00 local time, an hour ahead of most of western Europe, so check the time on your ticket against your own time zone. Bring a passport or national ID card: Greek grounds can check identity at entry. Away supporters at European matches are usually given set travel arrangements by the clubs and police, so follow the instructions issued for your match. The Olympic Stadium is in the northern suburbs, so allow at least 35 minutes from central Athens plus the walk. For concerts, the open-air summer venues have no roof: check the weather and the venue's own entry rules before you go.
When to visit
Athens football season
The Super League Greece season runs from August to May, and the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League bring European nights from September to the spring. Athens summers are hot, which is when the open-air concert season runs at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and on Mount Lycabettus; the indoor arena calendar runs all year.
