About
Football in Vienna
Vienna is home to Austria's two biggest football clubs and its national stadium. SK Rapid Wien, who took their present name in 1899 and hold the record for Austrian league titles, play at the Allianz Stadion in Hütteldorf, opened in 2016, which holds 26,000 for league matches and 24,000, all seated, for European nights. FK Austria Wien, founded in 1911, play at the Generali Arena in Favoriten, rebuilt between 2016 and 2018 for about 17,500. The Ernst-Happel-Stadion in the Prater, Austria's largest stadium at about 50,000, is where the national team plays most of its home matches; it staged four European Cup and Champions League finals and the Euro 2008 final. Rapid against Austria, the Vienna derby, has been played since 1911. Away from football, the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria's largest indoor arena, and the concert hall inside the Gasometer in Simmering carry most of the touring shows we list.

Football in Vienna: two clubs, one derby
Rapid are the club of the west. They play at the Allianz Stadion in Hütteldorf, built on the site of their old Gerhard-Hanappi-Stadion and opened in 2016, and they have won the Austrian league 32 times, a record. Austria Wien, founded in 1911, are the club of the south: the Generali Arena in Favoriten was rebuilt stand by stand between 2016 and 2018 and holds about 17,500.
The two have met since 1911 and, with neither ever relegated, the Vienna derby comes round several times a season. It is the hardest domestic ticket in the city. The Ernst-Happel-Stadion in the Prater is the third ground: home to most Austria national team matches and the venue of the Euro 2008 final.
The music venues
The Wiener Stadthalle in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus is Austria's largest indoor arena, holding about 16,000 with standing, and it is where most arena tours stop; it hosted Eurovision in 2015 and 2026. The Raiffeisen Halle, inside Gasometer B in Simmering and formerly the Bank Austria Halle, holds 4,200 and opened in 2001. The Marx Halle, the listed iron hall of the former St. Marx cattle market, takes large concerts and events, and the Arena Wien in Landstraße holds about 3,000.
Smaller rooms carry the club circuit: Flex on the Donaukanal, WUK, Szene Wien, B72, Grelle Forelle, SIMM City, Globe Wien and the Ottakringer Brauerei. Whatever from these venues has tickets on sale today appears in the feed at the top of this page.
Classical Vienna
Vienna's classical halls are among the most famous in the world. The Staatsoper opened in 1869 with Mozart's Don Giovanni; the Musikverein, home of the Vienna Philharmonic since 1870, has a Golden Hall of 1,744 seats plus standing room and stages the New Year's Concert; the Konzerthaus, opened in 1913, has a Great Hall of 1,840 seats.
These houses sell most of their seats through their own box offices and subscriptions. What we list in Vienna is mostly arena and club concerts, so if a Staatsoper or Musikverein date is what you are after, go to the venue first.
What we list today — and what we don't
Anyseats lists Rapid and Austria Wien home matches when sellers list them, concerts at the Wiener Stadthalle and the Gasometer, and comedy and touring musicals at the Stadthalle, among them the Mamma Mia! run in March 2027. Every price shown includes fees: the number you see is the number you pay.
We do not sell Staatsoper or Musikverein subscriptions, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Vienna derbies
Vienna derby (Wiener Derby)
Rapid Wien vs Austria Wien, first played on 8 September 1911, when Rapid won 4–1. Neither club has ever been relegated from the Austrian top flight, so the derby is played several times every season; Rapid v Austria at the Allianz Stadion is currently listed for 29 January 2027.
Match-day tips
On a Vienna match-day
Austria is on Central European Time, one hour ahead of the UK all year, so a 19:30 kick-off in Vienna is 18:30 in London. In the 2026–27 Austrian Bundesliga, Friday and Saturday evening matches are fixed at 19:30, except in rounds straight after international breaks, and other matches are spread across the weekend as the league sets them in phases; check the time on the event page, which updates once a kick-off is confirmed. Entry to high-profile matches can be conditional on a search of your clothing and bags, so travel light and allow time at the gates. Parking around the Generali Arena is very limited and the roads around the Ernst-Happel-Stadion queue on big nights, so use the U-Bahn. Tickets are delivered by the seller before the event; your order page shows how and when.
When to visit
Vienna football season
The Austrian Bundesliga season runs from late July or early August to May: twelve clubs play 22 rounds, then split into a top six and a bottom six for the rest of the season. There is a winter break over December and January; the 2025–26 season resumed on 6 February 2026. The indoor arena calendar runs all year, with the busiest concert months in spring and autumn. From mid-November to Christmas the city's Christmas markets open, the best known on the Rathausplatz, and the Vienna New Year's Concert is played at the Musikverein on 1 January.
