History
About Loftus Road
Loftus Road opened in 1904 and was first used by Shepherd's Bush FC; Queens Park Rangers moved in in 1917, after the army took over their Park Royal ground. QPR left twice for the nearby White City Stadium, in 1931–33 and 1962–63, and came back both times. The stands were rebuilt between 1968 and 1981, and in 1981 it became the first ground in British professional football with an artificial pitch, which was taken up in 1988.
