About the Austrian Bundesliga

The Austrian Bundesliga is a 12-club league with a format most visitors haven't met: 22 rounds of a regular season, then a split into a six-club championship round and a six-club relegation round. LASK start 2026/27 as champions; the fixture list above shows what Anyseats currently has on sale.

This is also the first season since 2018/19 without the halving rule — clubs now carry their full points total into the split rounds instead of half of it. Late-season tables read the way you would expect them to, which was not previously true.

The split

After 22 rounds the league divides in two

Each club plays the other eleven twice, then the table splits: the top six contest the title and the European places, the bottom six play to avoid the relegation spot. Every club then plays ten more matches within its group, so a season ticket covers 16 home games and the fixture list changes character in spring.

For buyers, the split is the calendar's hinge. Championship-round matches between the leading clubs are the season's premium fixtures, and they only exist once the split is decided.

The grounds

Small stadiums, short distances

Capacities run from about 5,000 at Hartberg to just over 30,000 at Red Bull Salzburg, so even mid-table matches can be close to capacity. Vienna hosts two clubs and most grounds are within a few hours of each other by rail, which makes multi-match trips practical.

Salzburg and Sturm Graz have carried Austria's European campaigns in recent seasons, and their home European nights are the country's hottest tickets — domestic form decides how many there are.

Buying

Club-by-club sales, modest prices, firm segregation

Austrian clubs sell directly and prices are modest by Premier League standards, but capacity is the constraint: a 5,000-seat ground sells out on ordinary demand. Resale listings here reflect that — few, and concentrated on the biggest fixtures.

Away sectors are separated and policed. Buy for the correct end, and check the listing for any entry conditions the club attaches.

FAQ

Austrian Bundesliga ticket FAQs

Are Austrian Bundesliga tickets on Anyseats authentic?

Listings come from verified sellers. The 200% Buyer Guarantee covers ticket non-delivery and ticket-related denied entry that cannot be resolved in time. We first try to provide comparable or better replacements. When that is not possible, you get 100% refunded, plus 100% back in credit. Events cancelled by the organiser without a replacement date are refunded in full instead.

When will my Austrian Bundesliga tickets arrive?

Tickets usually arrive 24-72 hours before the event and are guaranteed before it begins. Some issuers release tickets closer to the start time. Most tickets are delivered electronically. Physical tickets are sent by tracked courier or arranged for clearly identified collection.

Why are Austrian Bundesliga ticket prices sometimes above face value?

Anyseats is a secondary marketplace. Prices are set by individual sellers and reflect the live supply and demand for each fixture, section and quantity. Compare the total buyer price and listing details before choosing.

What happens if my Austrian Bundesliga match is cancelled or postponed?

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket stays valid for the new date. If an event is cancelled outright with no replacement date, you're refunded in full for the tickets and any mandatory order fees, to your original payment method - automatically. A cancellation by the organiser is outside our control, so it is covered by that full refund rather than by the 200% Buyer Guarantee.

Can I buy Austrian Bundesliga away tickets?

Away inventory appears only when an available listing is specifically identified for that allocation. Supply is limited and supporter, identification or collection rules may apply, so read the listing and fulfilment instructions carefully.

How does the Austrian Bundesliga format work?

Twelve clubs play 22 rounds, then split into a championship round (top six) and a relegation round (bottom six), each playing ten more matches within the group. The title, the European places and the relegation spot are settled inside those groups.

What changed in the format for 2026/27?

The points-halving rule is gone. Since 2018/19 clubs had carried only half their regular-season points into the split; from this season the full total carries over, so the spring table is exactly what the autumn earned.

Which clubs are in the 2026/27 Austrian Bundesliga?

Twelve, with LASK as defending champions. Austria Lustenau came up as Second League champions and Blau-Weiß Linz went down after last season's relegation round.

When does the 2026/27 Austrian Bundesliga season run?

From 1 August 2026 to 17 May 2027, with a winter break through the coldest weeks. The split into championship and relegation rounds comes after round 22.

Why are there so few Austrian Bundesliga listings on Anyseats?

The grounds are small — roughly 5,000 to 30,000 seats — and clubs sell most tickets directly, so little reaches any resale market. We show only what sellers actually list; the biggest fixtures are where inventory appears first.

Which are the biggest fixtures to look for?

Salzburg against Sturm Graz has been the title fixture of recent seasons, and both Vienna derbies — Rapid against Austria Wien — fill whatever ground hosts them. Championship-round meetings between the top six in spring are the premium dates.

Are Austrian stadiums segregated?

Yes — home and away sectors are separated and the rules are enforced at entry. Buy for the section that matches your allegiance and read the listing's entry conditions before paying.
