About
Football in Zurich
Zurich has two Swiss Super League clubs and, for now, one football ground. Grasshopper Club Zürich, founded on 1 September 1886 and the record winner of the Swiss championship with 27 titles, and FC Zürich, founded in 1896 with thirteen league titles and ten Swiss Cups, both play their home matches at the Letzigrund in the west of the city. The ground opened on 30 August 2007 on the site of the old Letzigrund, which dated from 1925; the clubs have shared it since September 2007, and it holds about 26,000 for league matches. A new football stadium on the old Hardturm site has been planned for years but is not built. The Zurich derby is the only rivalry in Swiss football between two clubs from the same city. For music, the Hallenstadion in Oerlikon, opened in 1939, holds up to 15,000 and carries most of the arena concerts, while the Letzigrund itself takes the biggest summer shows and, each August, the Weltklasse Zürich athletics meeting. All of these are reached by tram or S-Bahn, and Swiss time is one hour ahead of the UK.

Football in Zurich: two clubs, one ground, one derby
Grasshopper Club Zürich, founded in 1886, are the older club and the record winners of the Swiss championship with 27 titles. FC Zürich, founded in 1896, have won the league thirteen times and the Swiss Cup ten. Both play at the Letzigrund, which has held about 26,000 for league matches since it opened in 2007. A shared ground is unusual for a city derby, and a replacement stadium on the Hardturm site is still in planning rather than under way.
Their first meeting was in 1897, and over 253 games Grasshopper lead the head-to-head. The Zurich derby is the only one in Swiss football between two clubs from the same city. We list FC Zürich fixtures where sellers have them; no Zurich football fixtures are listed at the moment.
The music venues
The Hallenstadion in Oerlikon opened in 1939 and holds up to 15,000, about 13,000 for concerts. It carries most arena tours that come to Zurich, and has been a stop for The Rolling Stones in 1967, David Bowie in 1976 and Queen between 1978 and 1986. It is reached from Oerlikon station by tram or bus.
The Letzigrund is quoted at up to about 50,000 for concerts, which makes it the city's stadium concert venue. Smaller shows are held in halls and museum spaces around the city; for example, ZKB Unique Moments at the Landesmuseum is the venue for a listed date in June 2027.
Zurich in August: Weltklasse and Street Parade
Weltklasse Zürich has been held at the Letzigrund since 1928 and is now a Diamond League meeting. In 2026 the stadium programme took place on Thursday 27 August, with a separate session at the main station the day before. The Street Parade, a techno procession around the lake basin, took place on Saturday 8 August 2026, on the second weekend of August.
Both are annual, so late summer is the busiest period for the city's events. The Zurich Film Festival follows in late September and early October, from 24 September to 4 October in 2026.
What we list today — and what we don't
Anyseats currently lists concerts at the Hallenstadion Zürich from November 2026 to November 2027, among them Pitbull, Noah Kahan, Bryan Adams, Five Finger Death Punch, James Blunt, Teddy Swims, Simple Minds, Andrea Bocelli, Herbert Grönemeyer, Fontaines D.C. and Till Lindemann, and Take That at ZKB Unique Moments Landesmuseum in June 2027. Every price shown includes fees: the number you see is the number you pay.
We have no Zurich football fixtures listed at the moment, and we do not sell the Weltklasse athletics meeting, Street Parade or Zurich Film Festival.

Zurich derby (Zürcher Derby)
Grasshopper Club Zürich vs FC Zürich, first played on 28 November 1897, when Grasshopper won 7–2 in the first Swiss championship. Over 253 meetings Grasshopper have 122 wins, FC Zürich 92 and 39 have been drawn. The clubs' last meeting was FC Zürich 2–1 Grasshopper on 9 May 2026. Grasshopper have traditionally been seen as the club of the city's elite and FC Zürich as the club of its working class. We have no Zurich derby listed at the moment; it appears here when sellers list it.
Match-day tips
On a Zurich match-day
Switzerland is on Central European Time, one hour ahead of the UK in both seasons, on CET and CEST (UTC+1 in winter, UTC+2 in summer). A 20:30 kick-off in Zurich is 19:30 in London. We have not confirmed league kick-off conventions for 2026–27, so check the time on the event page, which is updated once a kick-off is confirmed. Tram 2 is the direct route to the Letzigrund; parking nearby is limited, so travel by public transport. Concerts at the Hallenstadion and the Letzigrund are best reached by S-Bahn and tram too. Tickets are delivered by the seller before the event; your order page shows how and when.
