History
About Unipol Domus
Cagliari left the Stadio Sant’Elia after the 2016–17 season, and the club built a temporary stadium on the Sant’Elia car park, about 200 metres away. Construction began in April 2017 and the ground opened as the Sardegna Arena on 10 September 2017, with Cagliari beating Crotone 1–0 in Serie A. Two corners were added in 2018. It was renamed Unipol Domus in 2021 under a ten-year partnership with the Unipol insurance group, and it is due to be dismantled once a new stadium is built on the Sant’Elia site.
