History
About Tynecastle Park
Hearts moved across Gorgie Road to the present site in 1886, opening it with a 4–1 friendly win over Bolton Wanderers on 10 April. A pitch-length main stand by Archibald Leitch opened in 1914, part-funded by the £2,500 sale of Percy Dawson to Blackburn Rovers, and Hearts bought the ground in the mid-1920s. After the Taylor Report the terraces were replaced by the Wheatfield (1994), Roseburn (1995) and Gorgie (1997) stands, and the ground was known as Tynecastle Stadium. The Leitch stand was demolished in 2017 and the new Main Stand opened on 19 November 2017, when the original name Tynecastle Park was restored.
