History

About Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea Council built the stadium for about £27 million on the site of the Morfa Stadium, west of the River Tawe, and it opened in 2005. It was the Liberty Stadium from October 2005 until 9 August 2021, when it took its current name under a ten-year naming deal. Swansea City's promotion in 2011 made it the first Premier League ground in Wales. In July 2026 the council agreed to sell it to the club.
