History
About Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo
The ground opened on 7 September 1913 on the island of Sant'Elena as a wooden stadium and received a concrete main stand in the 1920s. It was renamed after the aviator Pier Luigi Penzo in the late 1920s or early 1930s. A tornado on 11 September 1970 caused serious damage and capacity fell to just over 5,000, later rising again. The stadium was redeveloped in summer 2021 after Venezia’s return to Serie A.
