History
About Stadio Friuli
Built between 1971 and 1976 in the Rizzi district, the stadium opened on 26 September 1976 with Udinese v Seregno and took its name from the region, shortly after the 1976 Friuli earthquake. It hosted three Group E matches at the 1990 World Cup. In 2013 the city granted Udinese a 99-year right over the site, and between 2013 and 2016 the club rebuilt three sides closer to the pitch, keeping only the arched west stand; the finished stadium reopened on 17 January 2016. It has carried sponsor names, Dacia Arena from 2016 and Bluenergy Stadium since 2023.
