History
About New Balance Arena
The ground was built in 1928 as Bergamo's municipal stadium for 12,000 spectators. It was the Stadio Comunale until 1994, the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia until 2019 and the Gewiss Stadium until 2025. Atalanta agreed to buy it from the city in 2017 and rebuilt it in stages: the Curva Nord by 2019 and the Curva Sud between June 2023 and the start of the 2024/25 season. It became the New Balance Arena on 25 September 2025 under a naming-rights deal with the club's kit supplier.
