History

About Fortuna Sittard Stadion

The stadium replaced De Baandert and was built on an industrial estate, now Bedrijvenstad Fortuna, for about 30 million guilders. It opened on 14 November 1999 with a 1–1 friendly against Schalke 04, and Andrew Wright scored Fortuna’s first goal there; the floodlight masts from De Baandert were renovated and moved to the new ground. After relegation in 2002 the club struggled with the costs, and from 2005 the stadium belonged to developer Offermans-Joosten rather than the club. A group of investors linked to the club, including Işıtan Gün, took it over in 2017. It has been called the Fortuna Sittard Stadion since July 2014.

The four covered stands sit close to the pitch and are separated from it by a narrow moat. There are 16 boxes, 1,060 business seats and 800 places for away supporters.

• Hoofdtribune

  The main stand, where the supporters’ association has fixed places in sections F3 and F4 and a supporters’ café on the first floor.

• Zuid

  The south side, the cheapest part of the ground for single tickets.

• Family Corner (E sections)

  The E sections are being developed as a family stand with partner Van Kaathoven.

Bus

Several bus lines run from Sittard railway station; get off at Parijsboulevard/Stadion or Sportzone, a few minutes’ walk from the stadium.

Drive

The stadium is close to the N276, the N294 and the A2.

Parking

On matchdays the P1 garage under the stadium (Lissabonlaan, €12.50) needs a digital parking card bought in advance, and P6 Ballorig (Oslostraat) costs €5. Parking is banned elsewhere on Bedrijvenstad Sittard.
