History
About Victoria Stadium
The ground opened in 1926 as a British military sports ground and was later rebuilt by the Royal Engineers for use by both the military and civilians, opening to civilian use in 1970. In 1991 the Government of Gibraltar paid for improvements to the pitch and the athletics track. The Gibraltar Football Association bought the stadium from the government in April 2017. A redevelopment into a UEFA Category 4 football ground of about 8,000 seats began in 2023, and demolition of the old stadium began in 2025.

The western stand, due to be demolished first under the redevelopment once the Gibraltar FA took vacant possession of the site in September 2025.
