History
About Estádio de São Miguel
The stadium opened on 18 April 1976, with a friendly in which Sporting beat Benfica 4–3; a tournament between the three Azorean football associations was played beforehand. Lighting, seating and the pitch were renewed in 2008–09, and the floodlight towers and surrounding areas were improved from 2013–14. In June 2025 UEFA licensed it at category 3, allowing Santa Clara to play Conference League qualifying rounds at home.
