History
About Stadion Feijenoord
Stadion Feijenoord was built in 1935–37 to a design by Brinkman and Van der Vlugt and held about 65,000 when Feijenoord beat Beerschot 5–2 in the first match on 27 March 1937. German occupiers nearly dismantled it for scrap during the Second World War. A renovation in 1994 made it all-seated under a roof covering every seat, reducing capacity to 51,117, and the rebuilt stadium was formally reopened on 16 November 1994. Plans for a new stadium were abandoned in 2022, and in July 2026 Feyenoord completed its takeover of the stadium company.
