History

About Complexo Desportivo FC Alverca

Futebol Clube de Alverca was founded in 1939 and opened its first pitch on 5 April 1942. The club opened the present sports complex and stadium in 1996, shortly before it rose to the Primeira Liga in 1998; it played in the top flight in five of the next six seasons, the last of them 2003–04. After promotion back to the Primeira Liga in 2025, the ground was refurbished over the summer with new paint, new seats and replacement roofing, and the Liga cleared it in August 2025. The home match against SC Braga in the second round of 2025–26 was Alverca’s first top-flight home game since 2 May 2004.
