How the pool stage works
The 24 teams are split into six pools of four, and each team plays the other three once. The top two in each pool and the four best third-placed teams reach the Round of 16. Third-placed teams are ranked on competition points, then points difference, then try difference.

The stadium is in Railway Estate, within walking distance of the city centre via Lowths Bridge or the Victoria Street Bridge. The Townsville city bus hub on Ogden Street is about 550 metres away.

Known locally as Marvel Stadium · 53,000 capacity
Southern Cross Station is next door, a short walk over the Bourke Street pedestrian bridge. Tram routes 30, 35, 70, 75 and 86 stop nearby on La Trobe Street and Harbour Esplanade.
Brisbane

Known locally as Suncorp Stadium · 52,500 capacity
Milton Station is about 700 metres from the ground and Roma Street Station about 1km. Special event shuttle buses also run on major match days.
