Each house runs a season of opera + ballet performances from September through July, with summer festivals (Glyndebourne in the UK, Salzburg in Austria, Bayreuth for Wagner) bridging July-August. Opera house seating bands
Opera house seating bands have a strong effect on price + acoustics. Stalls (front-row floor) bring you closest to the orchestra and stage. Dress circle (lower balcony) is generally considered the best blend of sight-line and sound. Upper balcony seats are typically the most affordable but viewable angles vary. Hospitality boxes. Usually six-seat private compartments along the side galleries, offer the most private experience and pre-curtain dining options.
