The O2 Arena Tickets

London's largest indoor arena, holding 20,000, and the third-largest indoor venue in the UK after Co-op Live and Manchester's AO Arena. AEG operates it and stages more than 200 events a year there: concerts above all, with comedy, wrestling and family shows. The building around it also holds the smaller indigo at The O2, a cinema, restaurants and Up at The O2, the walk over the roof of the dome.

History

About The O2 Arena

The arena was built between 2003 and 2007 inside the Millennium Dome, the tent on the Greenwich Peninsula that had housed the Millennium Experience in 2000. HOK Sport (now Populous) designed it and Sir Robert McAlpine built it; cranes could not work under the dome, so the arena roof was built on the ground and lifted into place. O2 signed the naming deal in 2005, and the arena opened on 24 June 2007, with Bon Jovi playing the first public concert to 17,200 people. At the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games it was the North Greenwich Arena, staging gymnastics and basketball, and from 2009 to 2020 it hosted tennis's ATP Finals before they moved to Turin. Storm Eunice tore part of the dome's fabric roof on 18 February 2022; the venue reopened a week later.

Seating layout

The O2 Arena seating plan & capacity

The O2 is a bowl of fixed seating on two public tiers, Level 1 and Level 4, around a floor whose layout is set for each show; suites and lounges are sold separately as hospitality. Listings name the block, so the seat you buy is the block on the listing: 100s on Level 1, 400s on Level 4, and Floor, Standing or a lettered block on the floor. Accessible seating is available on every level, with lifts to all of them.

  • Floor

The arena floor in front of the stage. It changes with the show: standing, seated in numbered blocks, or standing at the front with seats behind. Listings say which, as Floor, General Admission, Standing or a lettered block such as A1.

  • Level 1

The lower tier of fixed seating, closest to the floor, in blocks our listings number in the 100s. A Changing Places toilet is on this level, and so are several bars and lounges, including the Terrace by blocks 107 and 108.

  • Level 4

The upper tier, in blocks our listings number in the 400s, higher and further from the stage than Level 1.

On the night

A night at The O2 Arena

Bring one bag, A4 size or smaller: backpacks and large bags are refused, and bag storage outside the venue costs £10 a bag and closes an hour after the show. Glass and hard bottles, horns and whistles are not allowed, nor is food or drink from outside, and every bag is searched on the way in. Age rules are set show by show, so check the event before buying for anyone under 16. After the show, the river bus and the 24-hour 188 bus are the alternatives to the Jubilee line.
