History
About Turner Stadium
Ground was broken in August 2011 on former training fields in the north of Be’er Sheva. The new ground replaced the old Vasermil Stadium and was paid for largely by selling the Vasermil site, with help from the Toto sports betting board. It was not ready for the start of the 2015–16 season, so Hapoel Be’er Sheva played their first home match at Teddy Stadium. The first match at the ground was a 0–0 draw with Maccabi Haifa on 21 September 2015. Roof defects closed the stadium in June 2020; Hapoel returned on 25 January 2021, and roof repairs costing more than ILS 51 million were finished at the end of 2021. In November 2025 a state budget was approved to expand it towards 30,000 seats.
