History

About Stadionul Zimbru

Construction began in March 2004 and took about 27 months, at a cost of about $11 million. The stadium was designed by Ceproserving and mostly built by Inconex-Com, with a Swiss firm laying the pitch, German floodlights and Ukrainian video screens. It opened on 20 May 2006 with a 1–1 draw between Zimbru Chișinău and Krylia Sovetov Samara. The Moldovan Football Federation took over its administration in June 2016 for ten years.
