History
About Papara Park
The stadium was built on land reclaimed from the Black Sea at Akyazı, west of Trabzon; the infill began in 2011 and was briefly halted by a court injunction. Ground was broken on 24 November 2013 and the stadium was opened on 18 December 2016, when it was named after the former Trabzonspor goalkeeper and manager Şenol Güneş. The first match was on 29 January 2017, when Trabzonspor beat Gaziantepspor 4–0 in front of 22,654 spectators. It was known as Medical Park Stadyumu under a naming deal until 2022, and took the name Papara Park under a five-season sponsorship from the 2023–24 season.
