History
About Pankritio Stadium
Construction began around 1990 but was suspended for years for lack of money, and resumed in 2001 once Athens had won the 2004 Olympics. Completed on 31 December 2003 at a cost of about €50 million, it opened on 31 March 2004 with Greece’s 1–0 friendly win over Switzerland, and hosted ten matches of the 2004 Olympic football tournaments. Ergotelis used it as their home from 2004 to 2022, and OFI played here in the late 2000s while their own ground was upgraded. Storms damaged the roof in 2015 and 2024, and it was renovated in 2025 before OFI moved in under a ten-year agreement running to 2035.
