Singapore — a city-state of around 5.9 million residents at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula — has positioned itself as Asia's premier hub for international live events across sport and music. The annual Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit is the championship's first and longest-running night race, held every September since 2008 across a 4.9-kilometre layout that loops past the Padang, the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay Sands. The 55,000-capacity Singapore National Stadium in Kallang — opened in 2014 with a retractable roof and movable lower-tier seating — regularly stages Premier League preseason fixtures, Tottenham's regular tour stop, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among the recurring guests, alongside HSBC SVNS rugby legs and World Athletics Continental Tour meets. Major concert tours treat Singapore as their key Southeast Asian residency: Taylor Swift's 2024 Eras Tour staged six exclusive South-East Asia shows here, with Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and BTS all running multi-night runs across the National Stadium and the neighbouring Indoor Stadium (12,000). The MRT Circle Line reaches the Singapore Sports Hub directly, and Changi Airport sits twenty minutes from downtown.

Singapore — the island city-state on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula with a population of around 5.9 million — is one of Asia's leading global event hubs and the only Formula 1 Grand Prix on the calendar to be raced as a night street race. The Marina Bay Street Circuit, the National Stadium and the Singapore Indoor Stadium together form the core of the country's sporting and entertainment calendar.

The Singapore Grand Prix — first run in 2008, every September — is the highlight of the country's sporting year, with the city centre transformed into a 4.94-kilometre street circuit running past the Marina Bay Sands, the Esplanade Theatres and the Padang. The race weekend includes large-scale concerts (recent headliners have included Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Robbie Williams and Marshmello) on the Padang Stage and the Wharf Stage as part of the integrated F1 ticket. The race is one of the highest-grossing single sporting weekends in South-East Asia.

The National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub — capacity 55,000, with a fully retractable roof and one of the world's largest free-spanning domes — hosts the Singapore men's and women's national football teams, the AFC Asian Cup and AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup fixtures, plus large-scale stadium concerts. Recent residencies and one-off shows have included Taylor Swift's six-night Eras Tour residency in March 2024 (the only South-East Asian dates of the world tour), Coldplay's six-night residency in early 2024, and BLACKPINK's 2023 residency. The 12,000-capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium next door runs the year-round arena calendar.

Singapore also hosts the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon in early December, the WTA Finals (in selected years), the HSBC Singapore Sevens (a leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series, every April), and serves as a major preseason destination for European football clubs — the Singapore Festival of Football has hosted Premier League, La Liga and Serie A summer-tour fixtures across recent seasons. The Singapore Airshow at Changi Exhibition Centre every two years in February-March is Asia's largest aerospace and defence trade exhibition.
